(The Best Years in Life) Amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis (ALS), otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is a rare
progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the
brain and spinal cord. This degeneration eventually leads to cell death,
making it impossible for the brain to initiate and control muscle
movement. As the disease advances to its later stages, it results in
total paralysis. The cause of this nerve degeneration is thought to be
the muscles not receiving enough nourishment. In this article we will
look at how we can properly nourish the muscles and take other steps to
delay, and possibly even reverse, the progression of this disease.
